CDSWCC38 Featured Stamper

Well, ladies this is the hardest part about hostessing the Clear Dollar Stamps Weekend Color Challenge. Every time I am blessed enough to get to hostess I am blown away by the amazing cards that all of the ladies produce. There is certainly no lack of talent in the group.

With all that said, I chose to showcase 2 lovely cards. The first one is Leah's card. I chose Leah's beautiful card, because I love her layout and awesome coloring. It really made me feel like fall, which you know I've so been in the mood for, hehe. Thanks for playing, Leah!
The next card I chose to feature was Pam's lovely card. Pam used such beautifully elegant details all over this card. From her flower soft, to her charm, to her nestie, down to her lovely coloring. Plus, Pam really touched me by her post.
Be sure to check out all of the amazing cards and leave these ladies some love. Their cards deserve it!

Thanks again to all of the ladies who participated. You all really are amazing! Be sure to check out the all of the Clear Dollar Stamps Sneak Peeks that are going on right now, and make your way back for next week's color challenge.

I made the top 6 at Card Patterns!

Wow, I was very humbled to have made the top 6 over at Card Patterns! If you haven't heard of them, they provide amazing sketches every week, and the DT always provide some awesome inspiration.

Well, it's day 1 for the Clear Dollar Stamps Sneak Peeks, and I always get soooo excited for this day {hehe}. I can almost hear the oooh's and aaaaah's as you check out the new stamps that get unveiled from day to day. I'm sure today will be no exception as there are 5 different sets to get a peek at! And that's just Day 1, my friends!!

I chose to make a journal for this sample, because we really do have so much to be thankful for. I tend to use up journals pretty quickly, so I can always use journals. Wow! Another card today!

I'm shocking myself here, lol. Okay, okay, I have to be honest. This card didn't take me as long today, because it was started yesterday and originally was supposed to be for the Splitcoast color challenge and the Mojo Sketch challenge. Well, let's just say that it totally did NOT turn out how I wanted it to, so I scrapped the base and kept my image. I'm still going to use it for the color challenge of Rich Razzleberry, Crushed Curry, and Basic Black (and can I just say that I LOVE this combo!), but I'm adding it to the Crafty Creations Challenge as well. Their challenge was to use windows. . .perfect! This set is called What a Pane and is the freebie over at Clear Dollar Stamps! All you have to do to get it is spend $50, easy peasy lemon squeezie, right?!
Stamps: What a Pane (CDS)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Stazon Jet Black
Paper: Razzleberry Lemonade, Basic Black, Neenah Solar White
Accessories: window sheet, paper flowers, dew drops, circle punches, Copics

A CTD & Paper Blooms card

We've had a very busy weekend, and even as I type this I should be getting ready for our next function. I just HAD to play along for the Clear Dollar Stamps Weekend Color Challenge! I also noticed what a fun layout they had over at Card Patterns, so I figured I would combine the two. . .you know me ;)

Lisa is our lovely hostess this weekend for the color challenge and she has chosen the colors Chocolate Chip, Tempting Turquoise, Gable Green, with an optional Pumpkin Pie and neutral white or vanilla. I chose to use a September release called The Grind.
Stamps: The Grind (Clear Dollar Stamps)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Tempting Turquoise, Gable Green
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Kalidescope dp, watercolor
Accessories: green ribbon, white liquid applique, Dazzling Diamonds glitter, Brown Sparkly Fluff, aquapainter, Square Scallop Nestabilities

A Limelight & Color Dare Challenge

Good afternoon! I'm feeling so peppy, because this has been a wonderful home school day AND I got to make a card ;D I love days like that! For today's card I decided to combine the sketch from Limelight with the colors from the Color Dare. Along with the sketch from Limelight the challenge was to use patterned paper. . .and I just happen to have a couple of pieces (sarcasm). The colors we had to use for the Color Dare are Certainly Celery, Blush Blossom, and Chocolate Chip. These coordinated perfectly with my new Cosmo Cricket Earth Love paper. Sweet!
Stamps: Moose Wishes (Clear Dollar Stamps)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: Certainly Celery, Blush Blossom, Chocolate Chip, Cosmo Cricket Earth Love dp
Accessories: circle cutters, window punch, Scallop Circle Nestabilities, buttons, Copics

Now I know you're thinking, 'Why did you use a retired CDS stamp?!? I love and want it!' Well, while this one may be retired, there is a wonderful alternative called Moose Friends! Golly, I just love these little moose!

A Sketch Challenge

With my CDS obligations for the month almost complete, I wanted to take some time to work on today's Splitcoaststampers Sketch Challenge. I had wanted to combine this with a color challenge, as I usually do, but just couldn't make it work. You see, I already had the stamp picked out and it just didn't go with any of the color challenges I came across. I have been just dying to ink up my newest Charlie stamp from Clear Dollar Stamps called Charlie Harvest. This was my result!
Stamps: Charlie Harvest
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Good Morning Sunshine dp, Pumpkin Pie dp, Whisper White
Accessories: Large Labels Nestabilities, Prismacolor pencils & baby oil, gold brads, dimensionals

A Thank You for Pastor

Yesterday was a rough day for my husband's troop. They said goodbye to a fellow soldier during a soldier memorial. I was asked by my husband to come and support him, so naturally I felt like I needed to be there. Our pastor, a wonderful man of God, asked if it would help if he took the kids. I would have never asked him to do this, but God just knows. Pastor took the kids to Starbucks for a 'treat' and then up the church to play, while he worked.

It was such a blessing to know that they were taken care of, and that I could go to the memorial without any worries. I wanted to make him something special, so I pulled out a couple of my fav treat sets from Clear Dollar Stamps. One is called Sweet Jesus and the other is called Sweet Accents.
Stamps: Sweet Jesus, Sweet Accents
Ink: Baja Breeze, Ridinghood Red
Paper: Cosmo Cricket Early Bird dp, Very Vanilla
Accessories: Summer Sun Courdoroy buttons, circle cutters, window punch, brads

I've had a lot of fun with these stamps lately. Just yesterday I made over 60 little tags with the little 'Jesus is Nuts about You' stamp with the squirrel for some little bags of peanuts for Grandparents day at the church! Darn if I didn't take a picture, ugh! They were so darn cute too. Oh well. I hope you have a blessed rest of your day. I need to go and get ready for a military formal tonight. I just love seeing my man in his blues!

I hate needing these cards. . .

Sadly, this has been a rough week for needing sympathy cards. I never seem to have them on hand, because as soon as I make them. . .I need them. Ugh! I made this first one for 3 different challenges. . .that's exciting, right?! The colors were from the Color Dare, for which my BFF Christi is now on the DT, YAY! The sketch is from Truly Scrumptious, and I used some bling for the Paper Blooms Challenge.
Stamps: Christian Sympathy (Clear Dollar Stamps)
Ink: Rich Razzleberry
Paper: Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive, Pale Plum, Very Vanilla, Razzleberry Lemonade
Accessories: Labels 4 Nestabilities, sponge, Swiss Dots embossing folder, handmade blooms from Paper Blooms, buttons, half-back Bling it pearls

This next card was made for the parents of one of my husband's soldiers who passed away this last weekend. I can only imagine what they are going through. It wasn't made with any challenges in mind. . .it's a 'just because' kind of card. I'm really enjoying using the August 20th Key Ingredients kit to make so many cards, which is what I used on this. I love the richness of the colors in the kit.
Stamps: Christian Sympathy (Clear Dollar Stamps)
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Regal Rose, Versamark
Paper: August 20th Key Ingredients kit
Accessories: Labels 4 Nestabilities, Scallop Edge punch, dew drops, chipboard, clear embossing powder, heat tool, dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by and I hope that you are having a very blessed week!

Some Mojo for my Sisters

I technically have one sister, and I love her dearly. She is 5 years younger than I am, and sadly I didn't actually start really liking her until after she was out of high school {hehe}. I count her for comic relief, which she supplies on a very regular basis. It's true that she was born my sister, but we've grown to be wonderful friends. I only wish she lived closer.

Now, I say 'technially' because I have many sisters in Christ, and some that have truly touched my life beyond measure. Since my husband is in the Army, we've had to move several times. My BFF became that way because of the Army, deployments and our wonderful little church. She may live a 2 days drive away now, but we don't let more than a couple of days go betweeen one conversation to the next.

As soon as I saw this set from My Favorite Things, I had to have it! On top of that, I've been giving myself a bit of retail therapy since the idea of my husband deploying again is really setting in. Soooo, I bought some things from Taylored Expressions as well. These cards were made with the August 20th Key Ingredients set. I guess I'm also disappointed that Stampin' Up! has decided to change their IDA. Oh well, now's as good a time as any to check out all the wonderful companies that are out there for my papered goods.

These cards were made for the Mojo Monday challenge blog. I loved the sketch so much and my new goodies that I thought I would make a couple of cards for a couple of special ladies in my life.
Stamps: How Sweet It Is (My Favorite Things)
Ink: Memento Chocolate & Tuxedo
Paper: August 20th Key Ingredients kit (Taylored Expressions)
Accessories: crocheted flower, chocolate brad, Copics
Thanks for stopping by, looking at my cards, and reading my blab!

2 Challenges in 1

I'm shocked by myself this morning. I actually found some time to play along in 2 challenges, so I want to share it with you :) I made this card for the Color Dare and the Limelight challenges.

The colors for the Color Dare are Cameo Coral, Bermuda Bay, and So Saffron. Gorgeous colors, right?! The Limelight challenge is a sketch and the use of polka dots. I chose to watercolor this cute little Patchpal Ducky from Clear Dollar Stamps, because I've been so inspired by all the watercoloring I've seen lately. My bff, Christi, has been so inspiring to me. She is so good at this medium of coloring, so I've really wanted to give it a go lately.
Stamps: Patchpal Ducky, Patchpal Messages
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Bermuda Bay, Cameo Coral
Paper: So Saffron, Bermuda Bay, watercolor, Cameo Coral dp
Accessories: Bermuda Bay, So Saffron, Cameo Coral & Going Gray markers, aquapainter, sponge, Curved Rectangles & Labels 1 Nestabilities, Photo Corners punch

Thanks for stopping by again! Remember the Clear Dollar Stamps Weekend Color Challenge is going on, and Shawne has some incentives for you to join in the fun. Go check it out!

I chose to use Shawne's awesome new stamp called Get Off Your Tuffet. She's such a fun image to color whatever medium you choose to use.
