Sketch Saturday

It's been a crazy week. My husband's grandfather passed away just before Thanksgiving, which is why I have been MIA. I feel as though I have lost my own grandfather, but I know that God is with us, and despite the pain He is good.

The best way for me to deal, so that I don't get lost in myself is to jump back in with both feet. We've already had appointments this morning, I made this card, and we have more appointments this afternoon. This card was made with a Clear Dollar Stamps Digi called Winter Wishes. I made it for the Sketch Saturday challenge.
Stamps: Winter Wishes
Ink: Cherry Go Round (CDS)
Paper: Cottonball White (CDS), CC Mitten Weather
Accessories: Copics, Cherry Go Round ribbon, Snowflakes 1 Nestabilities, Xmas Stickles, circle cutters

Today is sneak peeks for CDS too, so be sure to head over to Lori's blog to see the super sweet set and die that will be available in just a couple of days!

TSG Holly's Sketch

I've been confused enough that would you believe that I thought today was Tuesday?! Maybe it's the delusion that my fever is causing, lol. Regardless, it IS Wednesday, and I have a card for you. I made this card for the There She Goes Blog challenge which was a sketch challenge. I used the set from TSG called Bee Happy. Aren't those bees just adorable?!
I used some of my black sparkly fluff for the bees' black stripes. I love the feel of that stuff, and it gives such a great feel when you touch it, hehe.
Stamps: Bee Happy
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: basic black, buttercream, unknown dp
Accessories: Copics, circle punches, black sparkly fluff, white gel pen

I may have more later, but we'll see if the fever subsides and I feel better. Have a great Wednesday, because, yes, it IS Wednesday ;)

Get Sketchy #64

I told you I got a chance to be crafty over the past couple of days. Things have just managed to work out, although I've been sick the past couple of days. Over the weekend I was able to rearrange my 'craft cave' a little bit better. Our closet was tripling as a closet, comic book storage (yes, that's my man), and my 'craft cave'. I should really take some pics, so you can see what I'm talking about.

I made this card for the Get Sketchy challenge using the MFT set called Grow Love Plant a Tree. I made the tree to look like a birch tree we had in our backyard when I was growing up. I loved that the bark was white. . .it made for such a lovely tree.
Stamps: Grow Love Plant a Tree & MFT sentiment
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: BG Jovial, Worn Parchment (CDS), Cottonball White (CDS)

This first one was made the Sketch Saturday challenge. I made it for the birthday party my son went to. He's getting older, so 'cute' doesn't do it and I needed cooler cards. This set from Taylored Expressions called You're My Hero was perfect.
This second one was made for the Limelight challenge, which was a sketch and to use patterned paper, but I missed the deadline. I had a picture of the inside, but it didn't turn out so you just the outside for now.

Happy Veteran's Day!

Happy Veteran's Day to all of my Veteran friends! I am so overwhelmed and humbled as I look as those that serve with their whole hearts. It is a huge sacrifice that very few have stepped up to take here in America, so thank you to all who are and all who have served here in America.

I made this card for 3 challenges using my Designer Label Die and Designer Label Celebrations stamp set from Clear Dollar Stamps. It follows the sketch over at Mojo Monday. It follows the theme of 'birthdays' over at the Sisterhood of Crafters, and it follows the 'anything goes' challenge over at Cute Card Thursdays.

TSG Create a Scene

It seems busy, busy, busy around here, but then again. . .when isn't it busy around here? Haha! Between school for the kids and random other obligations, we have been a bit swamped. With the holidays approaching, it is only going to get busier. I decided to get into my craft cave yesterday, between tests that my kids were taking, and this is what I came up with. I made it for the There She Goes Blog challenge to make a scene. I used the Aim for the Clouds set.I made my clouds by stamping them on the blue paper, and then covering the images with Versamark ink. After that, I covered that with my own mixture of clear embossing powder & glitter, then I heated that. I painted the mountain tops with white acrylic paint, and then sponged everything.
Stamps: Aim for the Clouds (There She Goes)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Vintage Photo Distress Ink, Versamark
Paper: unknown green & blue, buttercream, Fly a Kite (October Afternoon)
Accessories: white acrylic paint, sponge, dimensionals, Copic E37, Tags Trio Nestabilities, glitter, clear embossing powder

I'm not sure I'll get anymore crafting in today, but I'm so thankful that you stopped by today! Have a wonderful Tuesday :D

It's the first Friday of the month and that means it's time for another Clearly Inspired Challenge over at Clearly iStamp! This month's challenge is called 'Fall Bounty', so food inspired is the direction you're headed. I used the November SOM from Clear Dollar Stamps to make my cute little apron card. The SOM is called Thankful Pockets, and I combined it with the Thankful Pocket Quote. This set worked perfectly with the Basic Grey Nook & Pantry line.

Melt-in-your-Mouth Pumpkin Cookies

In the post before this, I mentioned making a dessert for a military function last night. I thought I would share it since it is a fall dessert. That, and they were soooooo darn good! They are called 'Melt-in-your-Mouth' for a reason, mmmmmmm. Anyway, I made about 60, and this is all that is left. My husband has staked his claim on the remaining cookies. Of course if he could have it his way, I'd make only pumpkin-type desserts, as pumpkin is his fave.If you click on the recipe you should be able to read it better, but it was relatively easy. I actually had all of this stuff in my pantry or fridge, so I didn't have to go out and buy anything. . .my kind of recipe if you know what I mean ;)
And here is the whole display from last night, minus a few cookies, hehe.
Here is the tag before I wrote on it. That set was a release from Clear Dollar Stamps last year called Let Us Gobble Together. I love that little turkey.
School is just about done here, but I have some running around to do so I best get going. Thanks for stopping in today. Come back tomorrow for more crafty goodness :D

A CCEE Winter Scene

I am on a sugar overload from last night. I went to a military function in which we had to bring a dessert along with the recipe. Thirty ladies brought their desserts as well, so there was much sugar to consume. I limited myself to eating just bits of 4 different desserts, but mmmm there was a lot of yummy stuff there. I met some new ladies, and got a chance to socialize with adults. . .always a nice thing if you're me, hehe.

Anyway, here is my card for you today. . .a winter scene for the CCEE challenge! I love this set from MFT called Winter in the City. This was definitely a fun one to paper piece, and I am in love with the Jovial paper from Basic Grey. This image comes with a little dog for her to walk, so I made her packages to make it look like she's been shopping for Christmas :)
Stamps: Winter in the City (MFT)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Ripe Olive (CDS)
Paper: Cottonball White (CDS), Kraft, BG Jovial dp
Accessories: scallop edge punch, mini scroll chipboard, Copics, glass glitter
All right I better get back to supervising the kiddos. . .they are learning about sound waves and Alexander Grahm Bell. Very interesting stuff :D

It's a slow start to the day, and I feel terrible. I believe the weather is changing which always causes headaches. . .booo :( Regardless, there is much to do today, so I better put on my happy pants, haha. I do have a card to show. . .that's always good right?! I made this card for the Mojo Monday challenge with one of my newer stamps from Clear Dollar Stamps called Everyday Jar-gon Additions. I love the Everyday Jar-gon set, so this little addition is just perfect!I'm not sure if you can see it in the picture, but I added some crackle glue to my ice cubes. Up close they look really cool!
CDS Stamps: Everyday Jar-gon Additions
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Vintage Photo Distress Ink
Paper: unknown yellow & blue cs, October Afternoon Fly a Kite, Cottonball White (CDS)
Copics: Y00, Y02, Y15, C1
Accessories: open scallop punches, sponge, yellow ribbon, Designer Label Die (CDS), crackle glue

I don't know if I'll get much time for stamping today or not. . .lots to do ya know. I hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday!

Card Patterns #88

Happy Tuesday to you! We were at the Dr. bright and early, and good news. . .my daughter does not need surgery on her toe! In celebration I used this adorable little digi image from Clear Dollar Stamps called Caterpillar Swing for the sketch over at Card Patterns.
I don't actually have this particular nestie, so I used post it's before I sponged around the caterpillar.
Images: Caterpillar Swing
Ink: Baja Breeze
Paper: Cottonball White (CDS), My Mind's Eye Abbey Road
Copics: B21, B23, B24, E00, E02, G21, Y17
Accessories: sponge, mustard brads, Tags Trio Nestabilities, D'vine Swirls embossing folder
