TE January Calendar Challenge

I'm still doing some healing from last Wednesday.  It feels slow, but I'll get there :)  Taylored Expressions used to have a monthly customer blog hop, but they are changing things up a bit.  Instead of that, there is a new Monthly Calendar Challenge!  The premise is that we'll have completed calendars by the end of the year. I like that kind of motivation.

I've had mine done for a bit, but with this shoulder thing, I just wasn't able to get it posted.  I pulled out an old, and I mean OLD birthday calendar that I had bought from Stampin' Up! back when I was a demo many moons ago.  I paired January up with none other than Polar Pete, because I just love this guy and he's PERFECT for January ;)

I'm really excited about how this birthday calendar is going to turn out!  I haven't decided what I'll do for February, but the wheels are already turning :)

Stamps:  Polar Pete
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper:  CDS Cottonball White
Copics:  B00, B02, B04, B06, RV11, RV14, RV29, T1, T3
Accessories:  foam tape, snowflake brads

Thanks for stopping by!

TESC151 -- It's back!

Guess what, fellow crafters?!  It's time to start up the Taylored Expressions Sketches once again!  I'm so excited that they are back!  I'm still quite a bit under the weather having had shoulder surgery just a couple of days ago, but I am excited for this none the less!  There are a few fun changes to the challenge:

Here's everything you need to know in order to participate:

1. Create a card using the sketch as inspiration. Feel free to switch up the shape or size of your card. As long as your project follows the general sketch, you’re good to go! You may play as many times as you want. Each upload will be entered into our weekly drawing, so the more you create - the better chance you have of winning the PRIZE!

2. Upload your project to Taylor's blog, using In Linkz before 8pm PST on Thursday, February 9th. If you also choose to upload your creation to online galleries (like here on SCS), use the keyword TESC151

3. You’re not required to use TE Stamps on your project, but we love it when you do! And if you’re drawn as our weekly winner and you’ve used TE Stamps on your project you’ll get a little sumpin’ sumpin’ extra (see below)!

The PRIZE!!

1. We will randomly select one person from all of the challenge uploads to receive a $10 gift certificate to the TE Store!

2. If you used predominantly TE Stamps on your project you’ll receive an extra $10 bonus for a total $20 gift certificate to the TE Store.

Also, remember to use keyword tayloredexpressions whenever you upload your TE creations. This will include you in the TE customer gallery here on SCS!

My card uses this fun set called Hangin' Out from Taylored Expressions.  I couldn't resist using this set since Valentine's Day is just around the corner.  Just when I think I've finished the card I'm going to make for my husband, I make something else that get's me super excited, hehe.  I think he'll like this one.

Paper:  BG Sweet Threads, CDS Cottonball White, unknown orange-red

Over the Moon -- MFTWSC55

I've had this card made since last Wednesday for the MFT Splitocoast challenge, but it has been quite a hectic week.  This is why it is just NOW getting posted on here.  I used a fun little stamp set with matching Dienamics from MFT called You Move Me.  You know, the sketch looked easy but once I got started I found it a bit challenging.  I'm enjoying the end result :)

I painted the button with some gold paint, and used my Gold Viva Pearl Pens for the little gold pearls.

Stamps:  You Move Me
Ink:  SU Riding Hood Red, CDS Hot Cocoa, Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper:  OA Campfire, unknown burgandy, buttercream
Accessories:  You Move Me Dienamics, Gold Viva Pearl Pen, sponge, foam tape, button, gold paint

Tomorrow I'm having yet another shoulder surgery, so I may be a bit scarce on here.  My hope is that the recovery will be much quicker than last time and that I'll be back to stamping in no time.  Thanks for any prayers you may send up on account of me :)

My Heart Skips a Beat

Happy Saturday, crafty friends!  I don't have much planned today other than laundry. . .woohoo (insert sarcastic chuckle).  I do, however, have a card to show you that I made yesterday.  I received my Taylored Expressions Key Ingredients Kit yesterday afternoon, so I had to get crafting.  If you are a subscriber, you should check it out.  I love my monthly kit!

I combined my kit with a new release from Our Craft Lounge called Every Heart Beat.  It certainly has some great chevrons in the set and can be used for more than cards of 'love'.  I used the sketch from Jen's Deconstructed Sketch, the Zig Zag challenge from Our Craft Lounge, and the Free For All 'Have a Heart or 2 challenge' from Splitcoaststampers.
Stamps:  Every Heart Beat
Ink:  SU Not Quite Navy, SU Baja Breeze, SU Pink Pirouette
Paper:  January TE KI Kit
Accessories:  sponge, foam tape

Thanks for stopping in. . .laundry is calling :P

Clearly Inspired Challenge #44

Yay for Fridays!  And it's also the 3rd Friday of the month, which means it's time for another Clearly Inspired Challenge over at Clearly iStamp!  This time the challenge is

Pastel

So grab your pastel papers or colors and let's see what you can create!  I used the single stamp, Psalm 116:1, from Clear Dollar Stamps to create this card.  I combined it with some older Basic Grey Lemonade paper.  If you can't tell, I'm kind of in love with my Viva Pearl Pens, which is why I made my own flourishes with my Cream pen.

Here's a closer look at the pearls I made using the Cream Viva Pearl Pen.

Stamps:  Psalm 116:1
Ink:  CDS Tropical Mist
Paper:  BG Lemonade, CDS vanilla
Accessories:  Labels 14 Nesties, foam tape, Cream Viva Pearl Pen

Be sure to come play along over at Clearly iStamp for a chance to win either a $10 gift card or the digi of the month!

Splitcoast Sketch #368

I haven't played in one of the daily sketches over at Splitcoaststampers in forever.  Time just doesn't always allow me to participate in a challenge on any given day, but I found some time today.  I thought I would get a jump on the special Valentine's that I make for each of my children.  They look forward to it, and I love to do it :)

I used this adorable set from Our Craft Lounge called Pat the Dog.  The sketch is the Wednesday Sketch challenge over at Splitcoast.

I believe the first one will go to my son, despite the flowers, and the second one will go to my daughter.

Stamps:  Pat the Dog
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper:  BG dp, CDS Cottonball White

Cloud 9

My husband is home for a 4 day weekend, and while normally we would be doing something as a family he is sleeping.  He had to work through the night last night and got home at 9 this morning.  Poor guy is passed out on the couch and life is still going on around him.

That being said, I had some time to make a little something.  I saw the sketch that Jen had over on her blog, and knew I wanted to play along.  I thought I would combine it with this morning's Our Craft Lounge challenge of using numbers.  I'm using a new release called Love in the Air.  I'm loving their new releases!

I originally stamped it in white, but didn't really like it.  Then I thought I would just stamp over it in black and see what comes of it.  I kind of like the effect :)

Stamps:  Love in the Air
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black, Vintage Photo distress ink
Paper:  BG Sweet Threads, magenta, TE buttercream
Copics:  E42, E44, E47, YG01, YG03, YG05, BV17, BV20

MFT Sketch #54

Since I'm starting to feel more human, I had a chance to make a card for the MFT Weekly Sketch Challenge over at Splitcoaststampers.  I pulled out my PI Birthday Princess set from MFT to make this one.
 Stamps:  PI Birthday Princess
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper:  past TE KI Kit, CDS Cottonball White

Accessories:  Maya Road stick pin, Pennant & Circle Nesties, foam tape, stitched ribbon, corner rounder, Opaque White from Copic

I've been trying to grab out older TE KI Kits and start using them up a bit more.  This one is almost done.  No one can say that these kits from Taylored Expressions don't come jam packed with enough stuff to make a ton of cards.

I even did up the inside :D

Thanks for stopping by today.  I'm hoping to have more to show now that I'm feeling better :D

So fitting. . .

I'm chuckling to myself as I look at this card that was made for last week's MFT Sketch Challenge over at Splitcoaststampers, but never got posted.  It never got posted, because I've been sicker than a dog.  It's the only thing I've been able to create over the last week, and it was made LAST Wednesday!  Sad, but the sentiment is what is making me chuckle.  I just grabbed this set, because I thought it was cute but it is so darn fitting for how I've felt :)

The set is called PI My Umbrella from My Favorite Things.  She's a cutie, huh?
Stamps:  My Umbrella
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper:  TE November KI Kit
Accessories:  Copics & airbrush, Circle Nestabilities

Thanks for stopping in.  I'm hoping to feel better day by day and get back into the 'Craft Cave' for some quality creative time :)
