Operation Write Home Blog Hop!

Hello! This posting is for the Operation Write Home Blog Hop. You'll want to start there if you just stumbled upon my post, because there are a lot of hops in this blog hop. . .over 75! A lot of those blogs have goodies to give away, so you'll want to make sure you get to all of them.

Operation Write Home is a wonderful organization with this mission: "To support our nation's armed forces by sending blank greeting cards to write home on, as well as cards of gratitude to encourage them."

That warms my heart, especially since my man is deployed right now! I've sent several boxes of cards to this group and hearing about how they are received is very emotional. If you've never made anything for Operation Write Home, I would highly encourage you to do so. You don't have to send hundreds. . .even 1 is good and appreciated. Right now they are looking for some Valentine cards, so this is what I came up with.

Stamps: Tanks, Tanking of You on Your Special Day (Hambo Stamps)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: Whisper White, Old Olive, Ridinghood Red dp
Accessories: Old Olive, Real Red, & Sahara Sand markers, silver brads, brown ribbon, hearts & brackets die, Diamond Plate embossing Folder

That's not all, folks! I also have some candy to give to celebrate this fun hop! I am offering up these 2 awesome patriotic sets from Clear Dollar Stamps called Colonial Carvings & Liberty along with 2 yards each of blue and red twine. All you have to do is leave me a comment,
and follow me if you want. . .it's that easy! I'd love to hear about your favorite Veteran ;D This candy will be open until the end of the day. So, come back tomorrow to see if you won!Your next stop in the hop is going to be to Donna's blog! She is a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator with something fun to show you, so get to hoppin' after you leave me a comment!

  19. My favorite Veteran's Day is every year that we are safe and Free. I have had two of my children in the Military both of them were in when 911 happened. My son was stationed on the USS Cole ( the ship that was attacked) after it came back to the states. My daughter was over in Afghanistan and Iraq on the USS John Young and then stationed at the A school at Great Lakes for another 4 years teaching new sailors. My family was always military and I appreciate everything they do each day and not only Veteran's Day.

  22. This is such a heartening venture. Here in Canada, the painting guild I belong to also creates and sends cards for our troops. They range from painted, thru to stamped and embossed cards in every style imaginable and are received with great appreciation. It's such a little thing we can do for our heroes!

  51. I love that tank stamp and need it.....one of my sons is a "Tanker". I LOVE both of the sets you are offering. Hard to pick my favorite vet as my grandfather (that I never knew as he passed away when mom was 12) was in the Army and my father is retired Air Force and my DH is Retired Navy (guess I would have to say he is my fav - LOL!) and now both of my sons are in the Army - 1 currently in Iraq. Thanks for all that all of you do for our guys and gals in the armed forces.
