DP Ants for My Man

go HERE to find out how you can help Katie

Yesterday was an extremely productive craft day for me.  Everyone was home and there was no school for all of the neighbors so I was nice and gave my kids the day off.  There is no school around here again, so we'll see how nice I am today ;)

I made this card yesterday with 3 challenges in mind.  I used the sketch from Sketch Saturday, the theme from CES (all creatures great and small), and I used a Doodle Pantry image called Heart Candy Ants.  I made this for my man, because, well, it seemed fitting.  I refer to my husband all the time as 'my man'.  This particular digital set came with a ton of images and little words to put in the candy hearts.
Can you tell I'm having a ton of fun with my air compressor?  It's so quiet, and fun, hehe :D
Images:  Heart Candy Ants
Ink:  Black Soot distress ink
Paper:  Cottonball White (CDS), Cotton Candy (CDS), BG Sugar Rush
Accessories:  Copics, sponge, chipboard heart, Xmas Red Stickles, buttons, Atyou Spica Lipstick Red pen

HELP FOR KATIE!

HELP FOR KATIE
Hey Everyone!  I have a very special post today dedicated to Katie Emerson Renz. . .do you know her?  If not here is what I know about Katie.  She is a wife and mother to 3 adorable boys.  I've known Katie for almost 2 years since I started working with her over at Clear Dollar Stamps.  She is a joy to work with, because she is always so encouraging and giving.  I love her sense of humor and her mad card-making skills.  She inspires me.  Sadly, right before Christmas she was diagnosed with stage 4 gastric cancer.  I can only imagine how that has changed everything for her and her family.

Jak Heath is another of her friends, who has set up a wonderful fundraiser for Katie's family.  You will definitely want to head over to Jak's blog to see what is going on, and how you can get a bunch of digital  images for a very small price.

I am showcasing a card using an image from one of MANY images available for a very small donation that will go to help Katie and her family.  This image was designed by Laurie Wilson that Clear Dollar Stamps has donated.

Stamp:  Sew Grateful set donated by CDS
Ink:  Baja Breeze
Paper:  CC Material Girl, Cottonball White (CDS), Cherry Go Round (CDS)
Accessories:  Copics, sponge, button, brown thread, blue ricrac, measuring tape ribbon, silver pen

Now head on over to JAK'S blog to donate!

It's the first Friday of the month, and that means a new challenge over at Clearly iStamp for the Clearly Inspired Challenges!  This month the theme is:

Love is Sweet

It's time to start getting all of those Valentine's cards in order, so this little lovely fit right in.  I used a new set from Clear Dollar Stamps called Loving Critters along with some Basic Grey Sugar Rush paper (it's still one of my favorites).
It's easy to play along in the challenge.  All you have to do is make something following the theme with your Clear Dollar Stamps.  Don't have any?  That's not a problem either, because CDS is providing a FREEBIE Digi for you to play with so that you can join in the fun.  How easy is that?!  Head on over to Clearly iStamp to check out the post!

Tea to say Thanks

I mentioned the other day how my man gave me an air compressor for Christmas, well. . .this is the first thing I've used it on!  I actually really love how it turned out!  I colored the image as usual, and then air brushed the background with  a couple of different colors.  I made this using the sketch from Truly Scrumptious, and the 'anything goes' challenge over at Fab 'n Funky.

The image is from a digital set called Eclectic Teapots from Clear Dollar Stamps.  That fat cat just cracks me up, and he made me think of Garfield, lol, so I had to color him orange and yellow.
I think the sentiment is pretty sweet too, so I made the inside a teabag holder.  A great little 'thank you' for a tea lover.
Stamps/Images:  Eclectic Teapots
Paper:  Fresh Papaya (CDS), Tangelo Smoothie (CDS), Cottonball White (CDS), Pebbles Treehous dp
Copics:  B04, B06, Y17, YR07
Accessories:  Copic Air Brush system, Raging River ribbon (CDS), Labels 12 Nestabilities, scallop edge punch

Be sure to come back tomorrow to hear about the new Clearly Inspired Challenge for the month of January!

Blog Hop Winners!

Head over to Clearly iStamp to see if YOU were a winner!

A Couple of Challenges

Good Wednesday morning to you all!  I'm feeling much better today. . .it might have something to do with the fact that the gift my man got me for Christmas (an air compressor!) arrived at my door yesterday, hehe.  That man is so good to me!  Well, that's part of it, but I really am starting feel human again.

Here's a new creation (no airbrushing to show you yet).  I made this using the Mojo Monday sketch and the Simon Says 'new beginnings' challenge.  My mom needed a gift card holder for a shower she's attending this weekend, so I altered one for her using a new set from Clear Dollar Stamps called Baby Bundle.  It also uses the new Tabs & Tags Dies too!

I had picked up some GC holders on uber clearance at our local hobby store, because I see clearance and automatically think, 'I can alter that,' lol.
Stamps:  Baby Bundle
Ink:  Apricot Appeal (SU), Pretty in Pink (SU), Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper:  Cottonball White (CDS), BG Sugar Rush
Accessories:  Tabs & Tags Die (CDS), pink rhinestones, pink ribbon, circle cutter, dimensionals, GC holder

Thanks for stopping by today.  Hopefully I'll have some time to airbrush some stuff and show you later :D

A Card for Katie

I made this card for Katie.  Katie is a sweet wife, mother, designer, and friend.  If you don't know her, go check her out and read about her journey.  She was just recently diagnosed with Stage 4 Gastric Cancer.  I 'met' Katie through blogland and the Clear Dollar Stamps Design Team about a year and a half ago.  She has been the CDS Design Team Leader for a while now too.  Her posts and cards always make me smile and inspire me, and her emails and comments always make me laugh.

Over at Lori's blog, Clearly iStamp, we've decided to do a card drive for Katie.  We are hoping that our creations can lift her spirits and give her a smile every time she receives one.  I decided to use this new stamp called Heart Hugs, because it was just too perfect not to use.  Getting a handmade card is like getting a heart hug, especially when it was specifically made.
And of course, teddy bears make me think of comfort.
 Stamps:  Heart Hugs (CDS)
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper:  Soft Mint (CDS), Sweet Cheeks (CDS), Cottonball White (CDS)
Accessories:  Copics, Tags Trio Nestabilities, Heart Die, Swiss Dots embossing folder, Turquoise Gem ribbon (CDS), turquoise button (SU), sewing machine, sponge

Go check out the post at Clearly iStamp.  If it's not up yet, be sure to head back over there to get the details!

I'm still feeling a bit yucky, and I spent most of the day sleeping yesterday, but I did manage to get a card made. This card uses a digital image from Clear Dollar Stamps called Raccoon Friends.  I used the sketch from Friday Sketchers and some Basic Gray Olivia paper.  I think those little raccoons are just too cute.
Images:  Raccoon Friends
Paper:  Cottonball White (CDS), BG Olivia dp
Copics:  RV000, R20, R32, R37, BG72, BG75, YG03
Accessories:  buttons, Large Scallop Die-namics (MFT)

The hubs heads back to work tomorrow, so hopefully I'll feel better by then.  We also have to start back with school tomorrow. . .I know the kids are dreading it. . .heck, I could use another week off, haha ;D

A Stamp Something Challenge

Click HERE for the Clear Dollar Stamps 'Tag You're It' Blog Hop!

I'm home sick, so naturally what heals an ailment. . .crafting, lol. I can't seem to shake the yuckies, so I closed myself in my 'craft cave' and made a few things. I made this for the Stamp Something 'glitter' challenge. I used a new release from Clear Dollar Stamps called Loving Critters. I stamped my image right onto the patterned paper, and colored him with Prismacolor Pencils & gamsol. I think I like the effect.
I did cut stamp and cut out the balloon from patterned paper.
Stamps: Loving Critters
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: Cottonball White, Echo Park - Wintertime dp
Accessories: Prismacolor & gamsol, ticket punch, brown candy dots, Star Dust Stickles

Let's see if I have anymore energy for more crafting or if a nap is in my future ;)
