Thinking of You

I don't  have anything special for any specific challenge, but I do have a card to share.  I used last week's Deconstructed Sketch for this card along with a Simon Says card kit.  The flower stamp that comes in the kit is something I wouldn't normally buy, but I like the design.  I decided to stamp and emboss it 3 times and layer the pieces as shown above.  I used Copic E02 along the edges for a bit more depth the edges.

It's a great sketch and I'm sure I'll use it again.  Thanks for stopping in today.

TSG192 -- Wood Grain

Hello, crafty friends!  I've been working on a few things, and in the midst of that I created something for the There She Goes Stamps blog challenge -- Wood Grain, and it also fits the Simon Says Anything Goes challenge as well.  I have some thin wood panels like chipboard.  I don't remember where I got them, but I really wanted to pull it out and use it.  The design team has some great examples and there is even a tutorial on today's blog post over at TSG.

I used the TSG set called Jungle Out There and stuck with a very CAS design, so I could leave the focus on the cute image and my coloring.

The weather is pretty rough out there right now, so I may be spending time in the craft cave rather than grocery shopping.  Thankfully, I have all of the ingredients for crockpot chili, so I don't NEED to venture out in the yuck ;)

Stamps:  Jungle Out There
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper:  buttercream, PTI rustic cream, wood panel
Copics:  E00, E02, YR20, YR23, YR27, G94, BG90, BG96, Y26, Y28
Accessories:  foam tape, TE Label Stacklets 3 die, felt leaf, Gold Viva Pearl Pen, Gold Spica Pen, corner rounder

Just a Note -- January TE KI Kit

We are at the end of the month, and I wanted to make sure and show you another card using the January Taylored Expressions Key Ingredients Kit.  The papers are so beautiful in this kit, and I love the resin poppies.  I had never used resin before this kit.  They are so gorgeous!  The washi sheets are wonderful for die cutting as you can see :)

I made the above card using the Bonjour Couture set with the coordinating dies that come with it.  My simple card was easy to make, as you can tell.  The washi sheet was die cut using the Label Stacklets 3 Die.

If you aren't a subscriber, you should consider it.  There are some great benefits to being one; my favorite being the 10% discount that you get at the store.  Be sure to check out the TE KI Gallery that is filled with inspiration for this kit, and thanks for stopping in!

Happy 90th Birthday

My Grandpa turns 90 this weekend up in Nebraska, and I am so home sick to be there.  I  had a special card for him, but I made this one for him last night for my mom to give him.

I normally take my pictures in natural light, but since my mom left so early this morning, I had to take the  pics last night.  It gave me a chance to brush up on some photo editing skills that I lack a bit of ;)  My mom wanted something fun to give him, because my grandpa has a pretty amazing sense of humor.  I used this older set I have from Doodle Factory.  I don't even remember what the set is called, but when I saw those monsters years back I had to have them, haha.

I used some older chipboard numbers that I had from back in the day when I was a demonstrator.  I inked them up, covered them in glue and glitter, and then covered them in glossy glaze for this fun look.  The stars are a Taylored Expressions Die called Seeing Stars Die, and the Notepaper & Clipboard Dies are from TE too.  I also used the Folded Banner Die from Simon Says Stamp.

And here is the inside:

I enjoyed creating this so much, and I'm glad you stopped in to check it out.  I'm hoping for some creative time this afternoon :)

Stamps:  Doodlefactory
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black, SU Island Indigo

My 'something new' was this darling new digi called LITTLE CHICKIE.  It was just released, and you could win it here from my blog.  That's the prize for commenting here.  Not only that, but each DT has a different set that they are featuring, so be sure and comment on each blog for a chance to win the set they used!  How's that for a prize?!  That also gives us more winners!

Make sure you comment before you go, and then make your way over to Deonna's blog.  I'm sure she has something absolutely wonderful for you to oogle at :D

Brown & Red CIC #67

I'm so happy it's Friday, because this has been one busy week.  Are you as ready for the weekend as I am? Is crafting on your 'to do' list?  If so, put this one down as one to be sure and do.  Over at Clearly iStamp the new Clearly Inspired Challenge is a color challenge.

Brown & Red

That is easy enough, so no excuses ;)  I used the featured digital image called MR. SPIKE.  He's just adorable.  I've already used him to make some Georgia Bulldogs cards for a friend.  Since I'm a Nebraska Husker fan that was hard to do, but that dog is pretty cute.

I did a little dry embossing and also rubbed the ink directly onto the paper on the separate panels.  Since it's a 'ruff day' card, I thought some washi tape to attach the panels would be a good touch.  Tape can fix stuff right? ;)

We are off to Science Lab, but thanks for stopping in today!

Stamps:  Mr. Spike digital image
Ink:  CDS Cherry Go Round, Memento Espresso Truffle
Paper:  kraft, CDS Cherry Go Round, CDS Mud Pie, Neenah Solar White
Accessories:  red heart brad, washi tape, Labels Nesties, Heart Block embossing folder

Smooches: January TE KI Kit

This is the card that I am giving to my husband this year for Valentine's Day.  Those little pups from Taylored Expressions called Animals in Love - Scotties are just too cute.  They are an A la Carte item, so you can get them by themselves or you can buy the Animal Love Sentiments that goes along with them.

This month's kit has had a lot of possibilities, which is why I was able to make a 'love' card using all of the elements.  If you haven't tried washi tape sheets before, you will love them in this kit!  I've been die cutting like crazy with them, and I LOVE how you can reposition it.  I certainly did a little of that when adhering my Hearts a Plenty Die cuts.

Check out what comes in the kit if you aren't a subscriber:

There is a lot of crafty goodness in this baby, and Taylor has an entire gallery all set up just for each kit.  This way you'll never run out of ideas for your kits.  That is just one of the great benefits to being a subscriber.  Check out the rest of the benefits HERE.

Thanks for stopping in, and be on the lookout for more ideas using this kit :)

Tuesday Trigger

It's been a crazy day today.  I had planned to have this posted this morning, but we had sports pictures and that took me off of my game, lol.  We got back and proceeded to get as much school done as possible. We have Science labs at the local college tomorrow and some speech classes on Friday, so we will be out and about all week.  I did manage to find some time to play last night.  I made a little something for the Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger, which I haven't played in in a while.

Isn't that scene a place you could relax?  I love the colors of that bedroom. . .a robin's egg blue bed, yes, please!  I really enjoyed and was inspired by that pretty scene, and Cath really does come up with some good triggers ;)

I used an older Taylored Expressions Key Ingredients Kit from last year.  I fell in love with the papers again after I had pulled them out for another card I made.  "Why oh why did I put you away sweet paper?  I do so love you."  Crazy, yes, I know that I am a bit crazy.  The papers are actually from Crate Paper called Paper Hearts.  The stamp set is called Vintage Dreamer from Taylored Expressions, and I used a couple of dies with it:  From the Heart Frame Die and the Quatrefoil Cutting Plate.

I'm very happy with how it turned out.  I can see using that Quatrefoil Cutting Plate an awful lot as it sure is fun to use the different papers to mix and match a pattern.  Thanks for stopping in!

CDS New Releases

It's new release day over at Clearly Digital Stamps (Clear Dollar Stamps), and there is so much to see!  You won't want to miss a bit that is being released!  I'm showing off a couple of new sets by the adorable, Lisa Lara (mwah, Lis!)

This first one is called Have a Heart.  I arranged my hearts around the wording and added some glossy glaze to make them shine.  This set has some darling sentiments and images along with great papers!

My second card features the new set called Tic Tac Toe Fun, which is a wonderful all around set.  There are some prearranged images, or you can design your own tic tac toe :)

Be sure to check out the rest of the DT's blogs (in my sidebar) and head over to Clearly iStamp to see full sets.  All of the images are available right now for download :D

Love is in the Air

I've had a few things going on, but I love midmonth because that affords me some play time in the 'craft cave'.  I noticed that There She Goes Stamps is having a 'Love is in the Air' challenge over at the TSG Blog. I haven't played along in a while, so I thought I would this time.  I used my Cutie Pi set along with some Crate Paper papers.

I colored the images with Copics and used my Taylored Expressions Medium Layering Doily Die as well as my Small Layering Doily Die.

I better get moving.  There are basketball games tonight and chores to be done.  Thanks for stopping in!

Sunshine and Inspiration

Saturday, ahhhh, Saturday, how I love thee!  I'm obviously not at CHA, which saddens me a bit.  Although, I've never been, it's a bit of a dream, and I'm sure I will get there someday.  Just the idea of the smell of fresh paper and dye inks gets my heart 'a racin'!  Anyway, back to reality.  I woke up before everyone in my house. . .go figure, so I decided to get crafty.  I saw that the Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoaststampers (which is always a fave of mine), was for Layla Grayce, and so I had to peruse.  I found this gorgeous bedspread, and had to play.

It's been quite dreary here lately, so maybe that is why I was drawn to this particular piece.  I used my Papertrey Ink set called Hello Sunshine.  I don't have the matching die, although I am seriously seeing the value of it after cutting these rays out by hand.  I paired the sentiment up with my Simon Says Folded Banner Die (becoming very in love with that thing).

There you have it!  I actually made this for my sister, but don't tell her ;)  Enjoy your Saturday, friends, and thanks for stopping by!

January TE KI Kit & the Deconstructed Sketch

I have been playing around with the latest Taylored Expressions Key Ingredients Kit that ships out to subscribers soon.  It is full of great stuff!  I think my favorite thing in the kit, if I had to pick just one thing, would be the washi tape sheets. . .eeeeee!  They are awesome!  Check out the gallery for some great inspiration using this kit!

I wanted to throw my hat in the ring for Jen's Design Team call over at Deconstructed Sketch.  I used the darling little Love Monsters set from Taylored Expressions along with a couple of her dies:  Lace Chain Border die, and Heart Border die.

He's a pretty cute little guy, isn't he?!  Go check out the post on Jen's blog to get the full details of her call :)

Deconstructed Sketch #84

Another post for today, and yes, it's still pretty gloomy out there.  I don't think my picture is bad, but I do appreciate more natural light, so we're working with it.  I saw Jen's sketch over at Deconstructed Sketches, and I really wanted to play along.  I used my Simon Says January Card Kit again and flipped the sketch.

As per my one and only 'hard' resolution (because I tend not to keep them), I am sending more cards.  This puppy is already addressed and stamped and ready for a new home with a couple of special people that I miss desperately.  My only other resolution is to just be better.  Be a better wife, be a better mother, be a better friend, be a better me.  I figure I can handle that ;)

Thanks for stopping in!

Simon Says and a Sketch

It is a really dreary day here in Columbus, so I had to do a bit of improvising with my light source for my pictures.  That and the temps will round out to be in the 70's before the day is over.  Ha!  Regardless, I had to make something for yesterday's Sketch Challenge over at Splitcoaststampers.  It's a very pretty sketch that I am sure I will use again and again.

While on vacation, or in our case stay-cation, I received my Simon Says Card Kit for the month of January.  I didn't have a lot of time to play with it, so when they showed a sneak of February I knew I needed to get busy with this one.  I love all of the elements in it, although I don't know that I am a huge fan of the canvas buttons.  They don't seem to work for me, but that could be operator buttons.  Otherwise, the set and papers are all gorgeous, as always!

I need to get back to teaching and laundry. . .both never ending around here.  I'll bet you can guess which of those I love and which of those I loathe ;)

Thanks for stopping in!

CAS Birthday

We are back to the grind today.  The husband is at work, and we did school today.  I always feel guilty stealing away and crafting while my husband is home, so I took the time while the kids were studying.  Along with a few obligations, I worked on a 'for fun' card for the CAS challenge going on over at Splitcoaststampers.  It was a technique challenge of postage.

I'm embarrassed to say that I have had this MFT set called DC First Class Friend for quite a while, and am just now inking it up.  Please tell me that I am not the only one who has ever done this.

My sister-in-law's birthday is coming up, so I thought this was a fitting card for her.  The bottom strip is actually washi tape from Target.  I put it on some cream cardstock and punched it out for the hearts.  I really like how it turned out.
Stamps:  DC First Class Friend (MFT)
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black, SU Crumb Cake
Paper:  TE buttercream, BG Picadilly, kraft
Accessories:  DC First Class Friend die-namics, foam tape, washi tape

On a side note, I probably won't be adding the inLinkz supply list like I have for the past few months.  They are now having to charge money for that, and it's just not in the budget for me.  It's a great service, but I also  understand that there is no such thing as a free lunch, so it had to go :(  I hope you won't miss here too much.

Thanks for stopping by!

Clearly Inspired Challenge #66

It's a new year with new challenges over at Clearly Inspired Challenges!  Our first one of the month is an easy and fun one:

Puppy Love

They want to see your love inspired projects that feature critters. . .easy peasy!  I used the adorable new digital image from Clearly Digital Stamps called MR. SPIKE.  Isn't he cute?!  Come play along, because we would love to see what you create!

Thanks for stopping in today.  It's my last real day of vacation, but I've been working on all sorts of projects for upcoming releases.  Once we are back to normalcy, I'll have some 'just for fun' cards to show I'm sure.  Have a great weekend :D
