Something Special November TE KI Kit

It's a rainy Tuesday morning here in Columbus, Georgia, and I've got a ton of running around to do today.  Sadly, I chipped a tooth the other day. . .I guess I was so stoked about eating Thanksgiving leftovers that I got a little over zealous!  I'm headed in to get that fixed, and then drop my kids off at their Science Lab at the local University.  They have worked diligently on their Science Fair projects, and those are due today.  Nerves are high over here. . .I thought the rain would calm that ;)

I have a card to share with you today that I made for my friend's birthday!  This card uses the It's in the Bag set and it's matching Shopping Bag & Labels Die from Taylored Expressions along with the amazing November Key Ingredients Kit.

Check out the gorgeousness that is the November Kit:

Autumn Blessings & Winners

I know that we are all ready to see some Christmas creations, but here is a card I made for my in-laws to send off the kids' school pictures.

I watercolored this Papertrey Ink image called Sunflower Bouquet.  This image is a blast to color, and it was fun to emboss it and break out the Tombows so that I could color it in a different medium.  Watercoloring an image was actually my very first love when it comes to coloring a stamped image.  Naturally, I've made room in my heart for my second love. . .Copics.  There is room for both ;)

I sent this out last week, so I am anxious to hear what my in-laws think of the kids' pictures, and maybe even hear what they think of the card.

Taylored Expressions Key Ingredients

Happy Saturday, crafty friends!  Did you take advantage of the wonderful sales that a lot of the crafty businesses had yesterday?  Did you brave the craziness that is Black Friday here in the States?  I stayed home, and while I did want to take advantage of many of the sales. . .I resisted.  We had some missionary friends and their children come into town for the day on their way to Nicaragua.  We felt so blessed to get to spend the day with them watching the Nebraska game.

I did want to show you what I made recently with my November Taylored Expressions Key Ingredients Kit that features Jillibean Soup Grandma's Lima Bean Soup paper pack.  I used the Life is a Circus set from Taylored Expressions.  I really like the bingo chips that come in the kit, because they are a natural wood color.  If you use Copics, you can color those babies up like I did!

If you're not a subscriber to the kits, you should really think about it.  They make it so super easy to coordinate, because it's all done for you!  You just add your own stamps, ink, and adhesive, and you're all set for an afternoon of crafting.  You can get at least 10 cards out of each kit, but I always seem get A LOT more than that.  Here are just a couple of the benefits to being a subscriber:

SUBSCRIPTION HIGHLIGHTS
-Kits are shipped via Priority Mail for US subscribers on the 15th of each month (or the following business day if the 15th is a Sunday or holiday). Shipping charges are included in the monthly kit fee.
-You will receive your kit in a plastic storage case, with a color-printed supply list insert. This $3.25 value is yours FREE!
- Subscribers will receive 10% off everything at the TE Store during our monthly discount period (10th through the 13th of each month) along with FREE SHIPPING on additional orders placed during this time. You'll receive a coupon code in our monthly Key Ingredients newsletter.

I'm a big fan of that last one, hehe!  That is certainly a huge bonus to being a subscriber ;)
Here's a look at the November kit, which is still available:

I better get moving for the day.  By the way, Taylor is having her Black Friday sales through the weekend.  The sooner you shop, the more you'll save, and since today is Small Business Saturday you should get on over there and take advantage!

ColourQ #164

I had a bit of time last night while Jim was studying and the kids were working on homework, so I stamped of course!  Naturally, there is plenty of household chores that I could have been doing, but I just didn't want to.  I decided to really challenge myself by using the colors for the ColourQ.

I wouldn't normally pick these colors together, but I LOVED the samples that the ColourQ DT did, so I just had to play along.

The stamp set I used is from Papertrey Ink called Pretty Peonies 2012 Anniversary set along with the matching Die set.  I don't have the Cajun Craze inkpad, so I improvised and used my Dusty Durango.

There is much to be thankful for this Thanksgiving as we should be celebrating it year round.  We don't live anywhere near family, so we will be celebrating with a neighbor.  Once again, we are thankful that Jim is not deployed this year, but are certainly thinking of all of our American troops that are away from their families.

Thanks for stopping by!

MFT Guest Design Spot

My Favorite Things just released a bunch of great stuff, and if I had a money tree. . .well. . .I'd probably be buying it all up, haha!  The best way to try and get my hands on some more MFT goodness is to throw my hat in the ring for their Guest Design Team spot for December.  I've tried a lot in the past, and it hasn't happened yet.  The challenge is an easy one. . .the above sketch!

I used the darling ALM Hot Cocoa Cutie.  She is so fun to color, and perfect for not only Christmas, but the cold winter months.  I paired her up with some Echo Park Very Merry paper.

The sentiment was stamped with Stazon onto vellum paper.

You can try your hand at the Guest DT spot too.  Just head over to the MFT Splitcoaststampers Forum to get the details :)

I need to get moving.  The kids are working on Science Fair papers, so I need to get my proofreading pen ready.  Here are the links to the products I used:

TE KI Kit with the SFYTT

I don't know about you, but I needed the weekend to recharge for sure.  We didn't do a whole lot other than go for a walk as a family, watch some football, and lounge.  Both my husband and the kids did school work, so I took advantage of that by making a few things :)

I used my Taylored Expressions November Key Ingredients Kit to make this card for the Sketch For You To Try.  This card uses the Let's Chat set from Taylored Expressions.  That set is so cute and fun.

I'm a bit proud of myself, because I was able to make a card for each month of the SFYTT.  Next month is the last month, and I will certainly be all over it ;)  Here is the November sketch:

If you didn't get a chance to feast your eyes on the November TE KI Kit or if you're aren't already a subscriber, then check it out!  It comes with a full pack of Jillibean Grandma's Lima Bean Soup, and a bunch of fun embellishments to make at least 10 cards.  I ALWAYS get more than that, which is why I've always loved the kits.  They are such a great value!
