Last Call for the February Taylored Expressions Key Ingredients Kit & SOTM

Happy Friday my crafty friends!  Here it is the last day in February, and I feel like we are already moving through the year at a record pace.  Did you know that today is the last day for you to order the February Taylored Expressions Key Ingredients Kit or the Stamp of the Month (SOTM)?!  If you were on the fence, today is the day to jump on board :D

I'm a big HUGE fan of this month's kit.  If you're alive you're having birthdays which is a great thing!  Everyone around you is having them too ;D  You need something to make them birthday cards, and this kit has it all!  The SOTM is called Birthday Bash and the matching die (which is sold separately and available to EVERYONE) is called Party Time.  I used the Tags Stacklets 1 die with this kit along with the Tag Reinforcements die.

 Stamps:  Birthday Bash SOTM
Paper:  February 2014 TE KI Kit
Ink:  Memento Espresso Truffle, SU Ruby Red, SU Lucky Limeade, SU Crushed Curry
Accessories:  ribbon from kit, TE Party Time die, TE Tags Stacklets 1 die, TE Tag Reinforcements die, white paint, foam tape

I'm kind of in love with the Deluxe Kit, because of all of the amazing benefits that come along with the kit, plus it's just pretty awesome.  That and Taylor has a whole GALLERY all set up so you never run out of ideas.

Thanks for stopping in!

Have a Blast: Taylored Expressions Key Ingredients Kit

Oh Monday morning, here we are!  Another glorious week to put our proverbial stamp on. . .that's reason enough to celebrate!  As always the weekend went way too fast, but I did manage to get 3 tennis matches in, and I'm still good and sore from those :)

I've got a card here that I made using the February Taylored Expressions Key Ingredients Kit along with one of their darling stamp sets.  The set is called Far Out, and because I have nephews I'm quite fond of this set.

It's even fun to decorate the insides.  For this one I just stamped with some craft white ink, and then heat embossed some white embossing powder.

Stamps:  Far Out
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black, craft white
Paper:  February 2014 TE KI Kit
Accessories:  ribbon from kit, Copics, white embossing powder, foam tape

If you're new to the kits, they are a really great way to get your creative juices flowing.  They come with pretty much everything you need.  Just add stamps and adhesive, and you're unstoppable ;)  Check out the details on the KITS page, and be sure to check out the GALLERY page for unlimited potential!

Deconstructed Sketch: Coffee

I'm about ready to get started on some Love Fest challenges, which are from Splitcoaststampers, which I'll explain later.  Before I do, I wanted to show you a card I made for a friend using the Deconstructed Sketch from this week.

I used a stamp that I haven't inked up before (gasp) from Papertrey Ink.  It's called Warm Happiness.  I just had to have it, since it's a coffee stamp.  I don't even drink that much coffee. . .1 cup a day, but I do love all things coffee and tea.  I drink both black, because I truly do love the taste, mmmm.

Stamps:  Warm Happiness
Ink:  SU Melon Mambo, SU Crumb Cake, Memento Espresso Truffle
Paper:  green cs, Simple Stories Fabulous dp, Choice buttercream
Accessories:  PTI Warm Happiness die, TE Banner Stacklets 2, Icicle Stickles, blue satin ribbon, pink button, cream twine, orange ribbon

New Taylored Expressions Key Ingredients Kit Team Members!

Did you see the announcement?  We've added a couple of new designers to the Taylored Expressions Key Ingredients Team!  Please give a big 'ol TE welcome to Keia Shipp-Smith and Emily Lanham!  These ladies produce some amazing work, so why not head over to their blogs and give them some love!  I'm super excited to be working with them :)

With the celebration of new members I have a new card to share with you using the February Deluxe Key Ingredients Kit.  There are several kit options for every type of paper crafter, but the Deluxe Kit is such an amazing deal!

This month's Stamp of the Month (SOTM) is pretty awesome.  It's called Birthday Bash and has a matching die set (sold separately) called Party Time.  Taylored Expressions has some great dies that match already in the store, so I paired these two up with the Pennant Border die and Labels Stacklets 7 die.  I think those packages are framed up nicely, and the bold colors from the Hip Hip Hooray papers that come in the kit are perfect celebration colors :)

 Stamps:  Birthday Bash
Paper:  February 2014 TE KI Kit
Ink:  Memento Espresso Truffle, SU Bermuda Bay, SU Ruby Red, SU Lucky Limeade
Accessories:  ribbon from kit, TE Party Time die, TE Pennant Border die, TE Label Stacklets 7 die, candy dots, Tags Nestabilities, foam tape

Here's a look at the Deluxe Kits:

Not only that, but Taylor even has a Gallery all set up so that you never run out of inspiration for your monthly kits!  Talk about taking care of girl :)

Also a big warm welcome to a new Baker's Dozen member, Kendra Wietstock!

Mixed Media Birthday Gift

Happy Saturday, everyone!  Just last week we took a two day drive up to Nebraska for my 91 year old grandfather's funeral.  It was incredibly sad and wonderful all at the same time.  Sad, for obvious reasons, but wonderful to get to see all of my family, which I hadn't seen in 7 years.  I even got to physically meet one of my nieces for the first time.  Being military, we always live far away, so I was thankful for the time last week.  I know my grandfather would have been joyful for that.

On another note, I have a mixed media project that I made for a friend's birthday.  It was such fun to make, so I really want more opportunities for such projects.  That, and the gift was very well received!  It was my friend Terri's birthday.  We became friends because of our kids and baseball, and they have become so close to us.  It will truly be sad to leave them when we move.

Sadly, this is the only good picture I have of my project, because in haste I took the pics and wrapped this puppy up.  I used canvas and canvas paints for the background and waited for that to dry.  I stamped my branch image from Bless Your Nest which is a Taylored Expressions set.  From there, I painted over the tree with various liquid pearls (because it's all I had, haha).  I added the die cuts that match the set called Bless Your Nest dies, and then stamped the sentiment onto Choice White cardstock.  The sentiment is from a different TE set called Friendship Blooms.

I honestly love the way it turned out, and can't wait to make another project like it!  I'm entering it into the Sister Act Anything Goes challenge.  Go check 'em out, and thanks for stopping by :)

Taylored Expressions February Stamp of the Month Blog Hop

Hello there crafty peeps.  Sorry I've been a bit MIA, but I'm back with the Taylored Expressions Stamp of the Month Blog Hop for February!  Every month the Key Ingredients Design Team joins up with the Baker's Dozen, and I am so super excited about this month's birthday themed set! If you stumbled upon my blog, then you are in for a treat. If not, then grab some coffee and be prepared to be inspired.

The set is called Birthday Bash, and it is just fabulous. It has a matching die set called Party Time, which is amazing even by itself.   I decided to make a few birthday tags for my hip project today, and I used a lot of great Taylored Expressions products; Tag Stacklets 1 die, Tag Reinforcements dies, Party Banner Border die, and Medium Layering Doily die.

There are a lot of great benefits to becoming a Kit Member.  Be sure to check those out HERE.  Plus, Taylor has a gallery set up every month filled with ideas so you never run out of inspiration!  Now that you're done here, be sure to check out the rest of the hop. . .you won't want to miss a bit!
