Truly Scrumptious Sketch

For those of you that care about it, have a wonderful time celebrating the Super Bowl!  I just look forward to the food and the commercials. . .c'mon I know there are a few more like me out there.  The only football I seem to care about it college. . .you can have the rest.

Okay, onto my card, hehe.  I made this card for the Truly Scrumptious sketch challenge.  I took the liberty to flip the sketch, which I rarely do.  However, it worked a little better for me to do it that way.  I used the Hoppy Frogs set from Clear Dollar Stamps that is a new February release.  This set has a matching SVG file that you can buy.  If you own a Cricut, SCAL and SVG's are the way to go.

Tea to say Thanks

I mentioned the other day how my man gave me an air compressor for Christmas, well. . .this is the first thing I've used it on!  I actually really love how it turned out!  I colored the image as usual, and then air brushed the background with  a couple of different colors.  I made this using the sketch from Truly Scrumptious, and the 'anything goes' challenge over at Fab 'n Funky.

The image is from a digital set called Eclectic Teapots from Clear Dollar Stamps.  That fat cat just cracks me up, and he made me think of Garfield, lol, so I had to color him orange and yellow.
I think the sentiment is pretty sweet too, so I made the inside a teabag holder.  A great little 'thank you' for a tea lover.
Stamps/Images:  Eclectic Teapots
Paper:  Fresh Papaya (CDS), Tangelo Smoothie (CDS), Cottonball White (CDS), Pebbles Treehous dp
Copics:  B04, B06, Y17, YR07
Accessories:  Copic Air Brush system, Raging River ribbon (CDS), Labels 12 Nestabilities, scallop edge punch

Be sure to come back tomorrow to hear about the new Clearly Inspired Challenge for the month of January!

Truly Scrumptious Color Dare

Yay! I've finally gotten a chance to play along with a Color Dare. My bff, Christi, is on the DT over there and they always have some challenging colors to play with. With other monthly obligations, I just haven't been able to participate in much. The colors we were to use were; Real Red, Tempting Turquoise, More Mustard, and Gable Green. I combined this color challenge with the Truly Scrumptious sketch challenge, because I just love to do that ;)

I used the set called Cupcake Flopsey from MFT. Hehe, Flopsey makes me giggle. I may just have to add to my Flopsey collection one of these days. When I say 'collection' I mean I only have one at this point. . .sigh. . .I need to pace myself. I paper pieced his cupcake and sprinkled some Red Sparkly Fluff on for the frosting. . .mmmm.
Stamps: Cupcake Flopsey (MFT)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Gable Green, More Mustard
Paper: More Mustard, Tempting Turquoise, buttercream, Real Red, Cosmo Cricket Early Bird

I'm so glad you stopped by day! Your comments always put a smile on my face ;D

A Truly Scrumptious Color Throwdown

I'm up once again trying to post a card in the evening. I just had to get in there in create something with all of the cleaning I've been doing. I made this for 3 challenges. . .woohoo for me! I followed the sketch and theme over at Truly Scrumptious, which was to make something 'good enough to eat'. Over at the Color Throwdown, they are challenging us to make cards using Not Quite Navy, Ruby Red, and Old Olive. Over at Get Sketchy, there is no sketch just simply a springy theme.

I'm ashamed to admit that this is a set from Clear Dollar Stamps that I have had for a while, but never inked up until tonight. . .shame on me! I LOVED it when I saw it and just HAD to have it. I still love it, and now I seem to be brimming with ideas for it so maybe you'll see more of it in the near future ;)
CDS Stamps: Tangy Trio
Ink: Ruby Red, Not Quite Navy, Old Olive, Chocolate Chip
Paper: Early Bird Cosmo Cricket dp, buttercream, Not Quite Navy

I hate needing these cards. . .

Sadly, this has been a rough week for needing sympathy cards. I never seem to have them on hand, because as soon as I make them. . .I need them. Ugh! I made this first one for 3 different challenges. . .that's exciting, right?! The colors were from the Color Dare, for which my BFF Christi is now on the DT, YAY! The sketch is from Truly Scrumptious, and I used some bling for the Paper Blooms Challenge.

Ink: Rich Razzleberry
Paper: Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive, Pale Plum, Very Vanilla, Razzleberry Lemonade
Accessories: Labels 4 Nestabilities, sponge, Swiss Dots embossing folder, handmade blooms from Paper Blooms, buttons, half-back Bling it pearls

This next card was made for the parents of one of my husband's soldiers who passed away this last weekend. I can only imagine what they are going through. It wasn't made with any challenges in mind. . .it's a 'just because' kind of card. I'm really enjoying using the August 20th Key Ingredients kit to make so many cards, which is what I used on this. I love the richness of the colors in the kit.
Stamps: Christian Sympathy (Clear Dollar Stamps)
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Regal Rose, Versamark
Paper: August 20th Key Ingredients kit
Accessories: Labels 4 Nestabilities, Scallop Edge punch, dew drops, chipboard, clear embossing powder, heat tool, dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by and I hope that you are having a very blessed week!

A Truly Scrumptious Challenge

I got this stamp set a little while back and have been waiting ever so patiently to ink it up.  My original intention with this set was to start making up cards that to have on hand to send my husband during his next deployment in the fall.  I thought I could also make up a few for some friends dealing with deployments as well.  It's such a fun set and I know my husband will get a kick out of getting these cards once he's deployed.  When I saw the sketch over at Truly Scrumptious, I knew this set would be perfect for it.
Stamps:  Maid for You (MFT Stamps)
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper:  Basic Grey Lime Rickey, Pink Pirouette, Neenah Solar White, Candy Lane DSP

I'm glad you stopped by!  Come back tomorrow for a new post and a new challenge that I will be hostessing for Clear Dollar Stamps Weekend Color Challenge that will be going on over at Papercraft Planet!  It would be so much fun if you could join us ;D

A Truly Scrumptious Color Dare

I been really feeling motivated by sketches and color challenges lately, so I thought I would combining a couple this morning.  The colors are Summer Sun, Pacific Point, and Tangerine Tango for the Color Dare, and the sketch is from Truly Scrumptious.  Along with the sketch we had to use a food theme.  I just got a cupcakes set from Inkadinkado with a Michael's gift card from my birthday, so I obviously went with cupcakes for my 'food'.  I ended up crumpling the Tangerine Tango paper for a little bit of extra texture.  For the frosting I colored it with Copics and then covered it with Glossy Glaze.  After that I sprinkled Dazzling Diamonds and some beads over it and let it dry.
Stamps:  Birthday Cupcake (Inkadinkado)
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper:  Whisper White, Tangerine Tango, Good Morning Sunshine DSP
Accessories:  blue brads, Glossy Glaze, Dazzling Diamonds glitter, beads, Stampin' Dimensionals, sponge, Copics, rub-on

One card Two Challenges

I made this card for the Kwerner Color Challenge and the Truly Scrumptious Sketch Challenge.  The colors I had to use were More Mustard, Really Rust, Kiwi Kiss, and Whisper White.  I thought these colors together were wonderful and a bit different than what I'm used to grabbing for.  I love challenges like that!  Along with a sketch for the Truly Scrumptious blog, you had to use something shiny.  My shiny things were my dew drops, the silver ribbon around the package, as well as putting Glossy Glaze to the package.

Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black, Baja Breeze
Paper:  Really Rust, More Mustard, Kiwi Kiss, Whisper White, Neenah Solar White
