Spellbinders Out and About Collection

Have you gotten a chance to see the newest addition to the die cutting machine line over at Spellbinders?  The Platinum Scout is the latest and while I don't have it, I can imagine that if it's anything like the Platinum 6, it's got to be fabulous!  They also have a limited edition in lilac!  That being said, I have a few new dies to share that were designed to go perfectly with the Platinum Scout.

This first one is the Love Note Bird die set.  I decided to make a set of cards, because I love doing that.  I went through my scraps and found that I had enough to make these 4 cuties.  I paired them all up with the Thank You die set. The oval in the back is from the Essential Modern Ovals dies and they were cut in half.

This next one uses the Skateboarding Terry dies.  This little puppers is adorable on it's own, but that skateboard takes it to the next level!!

Next we have Roller Disco Dottie, and O.M.Goodness!! The little skates that go on the feet have me in a fit, lol!

And finally we have the Sprinkle and Grow die set.  Watering cans are always a win in my book, so this is just perfection, and those flowers can be used in so many other ways.

I don't have a video to share, because June was absolute bedlam in my house, but I hope you enjoy the pictures.  If you have any questions about how they came together, just reach out!

Craft Roulette #210 with Carrie Rhoades

Yay!  I've finally been able to participate in a Craft Roulette!  If you're unaware of what that is, you really need to check it out.  It's a fun crafty challenge over on YouTube where we are given certain parameters in which to create a card.  This week's guest was my friend, Carrie Rhoades, and she nailed it as she always does.

I used some Trinity Stamps goodies along with some Lindy's Gang powders (use code CASSIETCARDS to get 10% off in the Lindy's Gang Store) to create my card to fit in the parameters, and I'm so pleased with where this ended up.

New Club Kits for April from Spellbinders

Hey there friends!  There are a new Club Kits for Spellbinders, and I'm a little obsessed!  I love the theme this month with it all being stitching and needlework.  I have the Stencil of the Month and they Wax Seal of the Month, and both are incredible!  For the card above, I used various blue inks from the Simon Hurley Create line of inks, and I'm swooning.

My next card I made using the same line of inks, but I use a silver ink for the thread lines and a gold ink for the labels.  That wax seal is just fabulous!

My final card I decided to use Christmas color and then fussy cut out my skeins of thread.  All of the sentiments come from the Fancy Sentiment Strips BetterPress Plates.

There are lots of other kits available, so be sure to head to the Spellbinders store to check them out.  Like I said, they all coordinate, and if you like needlework like I do you'll need these kits!  If you'd like to watch a video of some crafty friends crafting with all of the April Club Kits, you can watch it over on LV Handcrafted. Happy crafting!

Copperplate Sentiments using the BetterPress with Spellbinders

Hey friends!!  Welcome back to my blog!  Today I'm sharing some cards using some new plates for the BetterPress from Spellbinders.  This first card using the Congratulations plate for the BetterPress, and I love how big it is.  I paired this up with the Mock Orange die from the Through the Arbor Garden line of dies.

This next card uses the Thinking of You plate, and I paired it up with the new Stencil of the Month for April.  That stencil will be released on April 6th.

These plates are fabulous for so many reasons. . .they are big enough to cover the front of most cards and I love the scriptiness of them.

2 New Spellbinders Club Kits Spellbinders for February 2024

Hey friends, and welcome back to my blog!  Today I'm sharing a few cards I made using two of the new Spellbinders Club Kits for Feburary 2024.  I have the new Stencil of the Month and the new Wax Seal of the Month, and naturally I think they work very well together.

For all of the cards I made today, I started with some watercolor paper and sprayed some Lost Shadow through each of the four stencils.  I went onto spray other scraps of watercolor cardstock with Saltwater Taffy Distress Oxide Spray, Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide Spray, Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide Spray, and used some Dried Marigold Distress Oxide ink.

Next I die cut out plenty of pieces from the newer Fresh Picked Berries die set from the various colors.  I had so much fun piecing them together and deciding which groupings would go on the different card panels.  The sentiments come from the All You Need Glimmer Hot Foil plate using some White Glimmer foil on some navy cardstock.

Making the wax seals was so much fun.  I started out using just some Fern Wax Beads, but then started mixing Fern Wax Beads and Cloudy Sky Wax Beads together to get a beautiful marbled look.  Those were finished off by using a Silver Metallic DecoPen to make the Lily of the Valley Seal really pop.

Fresh Picked Dies from Spellbinders

Hello there crafty friend, and welcome back to my blog!  Today I'm sharing some projects I made using some of the new products that Spellbinders just came out with.  I'm using the Fresh Picked Berries die, the Colorful Burst Flower die, and the Kaleidoscope Garden Press Plate.

The Fresh Picked Berries die is just beautiful, and I love that it has the potential to either cover the full front of an A2 sized card, or it can be pieced separately for other looks.  I used colored cardstock to die cut my pieces and assemble my panel.

The Colorful Burst Flower die is lovely as well!  I decided to die cut each of my pieces out of white cardstock and then blend different colors of ink for my desired look.

Finally the Kaleidoscope Garden Press Plate is such a lovely and detailed plate that can be used with your BetterPress system or even used for foiling.  I did some messy watercolor over my image to get a fun and whimsical background.

If you'd like to see how I made the first two cards, I have a video that you can watch here or over on my YouTube channel.

December 2023 Spellbinders Kits of the Month

Hi there, and welcome back to my blog!  Today I'm sharing some projects I made using the December 2023 Spellbinders Club Kits.

This first project uses the Small Die of the Month along with the Embossing Folder of the Month.

This second card focuses on the Embossing Folder of the Month and uses the sentiments from the Small Die of the Month.

My third card used the Glimmer Kit of the Month, and my kit came with Aura foil.  It's just so beautiful!

And finally I have the new Stencil Club of the Month!  I'm so thrilled that Spellbinders has this kit option now.

November 2023 Small Die, Embossing Folder, and Glimmer Kit of the Month from Spellbinders

Hello and welcome back to my blog!  Today I'm sharing 3 of the new Club Kits from Spellbinders for the month of November.

For all 3 cards that I made I used the Embossing Folder of the month, and lightly used an ink pad directly over the top of the embossing.  I just love the look of that.

The sentiments come from the Glimmer Hot Foil Kit of the Month, and it is all about the sentiments.  It comes with two plates and a die cut to cut each of those sentiments out, and I love that they are sentiments for all year!

The Small Die of the Month was perfect for the inlay die cutting technique, which works like piecing together a puzzle (which I love doing).

I absolutely love how all 3 of these cards turned out.  If you'd like to see exactly how these cards came together, you can watch the video here or over on my YouTube channel.

I hope this inspires you to want to get inky!  Thanks for stopping by!

November 2023 Quick & Easy Card Kit for Spellbinders

Welcome back to my blog!  Today I'm sharing 4 cards I made using the Spellbinders November 2023 Quick & Easy Card Kit.  I really love the color palette of this kit.  It's so rustic and subdued, and I think that will really add to our stash if you ask me.

My first card was a wedding card.  It just so happened that I needed a card for a wedding this last weekend, so this kit cam to the rescue!  I popped up the cake using some foam squares and I used a puffy sticker for the sentiment.

My second card focused on the die cut image that looked like a photograph.  It was just so pretty that I really wanted to showcase it, so I paired it up with a couple of patterned papers and used a chipboard sticker for the sentiment.

My third card used that darling image of the boots with the flowers coming out of them.  It seemed like the perfect image to give to a soldier, so I added the puffy stickers for that wonderful sentiment.  I may just have to give this to my husband.

My final card for the day seems like the perfect teen boy card.  It's rustic and talks about wildness. . .I just love it!  That subdued rainbow with the fox ephemera is where it's at for me.

I did do an unboxing of this kit, so if you'd like to see that you can watch it here or over on my YouTube channel.

October 2023 Spellbinders Quick & Easy Card Kit

Welcome back to my blog for the Spellbinders October 2023 Quick & Easy Card Kit!  Today I'm going to be sharing 5 cards that I made with this kit, but believe me when I say there is so much left over to be able to make so many more kits.

This first card had me quite hungry for a snack after piecing all of the goodies along the horizontal panel.  The patterned papers are so whimsical, and popping all of the pieces up with foam tape helped to make them all really stand out.

I love that there are always plenty of pieces in each kit to be able to build up little scenes.  Christmas cards are totally my jam, so I was all about these elves gifting each other some presents by the tree.

I was so excited that there were acetate pieces in this month's kit, so I decided to make a wreath shaker using the adorable clay and sequins bits.  I really love how this one turned out!

As soon as I saw the ornaments and those large hearts, I knew I had to make a card with them together, and I think this one is my favorite from today!  That little elf swinging from the ornament has me all smiles!

My final card of the day uses another acetate piece, and this one is a tag.  It looks so cute all dressed up with the clay and sequin bits.  That background is what it's about using the new Embossing Folder of the Month!

If you'd like to see exactly what comes in this kit, you can watch an unboxing here or over on my YouTube Channel.

I hope this inspires you to want to get crafty!  Thanks for stopping by!
