Doing a little Show

A couple of weeks ago a friend approached me about teaching a group of ladies how to make a card, so last night I got the opportunity to show those ladies how to make a Valentine's card for their husbands. It was a deployed spouses group, and they all seemed very eager to send these to their husbands overseas. This is the second time in a matter of a few months that I have had the privilege to do this. I LOVE being able to show someone that they can make something that will really be appreciated on the other end. This is what we made, and the ladies had a blast.
CDS stamps: Jan SOM Kisses & Cookies
Ink: Real Red
Paper: Regal Rose, Whisper White, Real Red, DCWV Doodlin' Around dp
Accessories: Scallop Edge punch, circle punches, Scallop Circle punch, white ribbon, Swiss Dots embossing folder, dimensionals

Tomorrow starts the Clear Dollar Stamps Sneak Peeks, and you DON'T want to miss what's coming! This first card was made with the Critter Tales set. This card was a fun 'think outside the box' moment for me. I made it out of ovals, as if you couldn't tell. The Home Sweet Hive set has so many great images and sentiments.
CDS Stamps: Home Sweet Hive
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Memento Tuxedo Black, More Mustard
Paper: More Mustard, Chocolate Chip, vanilla, Basic Black

I used the new set from Clear Dollar Stamps called Monster Mash designed by Laurie. Super cute set, right? Another 2-fer

The research papers are coming along. We have outlines done, and the typing is almost complete for the first draft. While they've been doing math, I snuck back to the 'craft cave' to make a card for the Card Patterns challenge and Mo's Digital Pencil challenge. Card Patterns always has awesome sketches to try your hand at, and Mo's challenge was a color challenge this week. This is my first challenge with Mo's Digital Pencil, but I thought the colors would be fun to try; white, Almost Amethyst, Bashful Blue, & Elegant Eggplant. The sentiment (which is just too perfect) is from a new release from Clear Dollar Stamps called Monkey Love designed by Shawne.
Mo's Digital Image: Two Cats in a Heart
CDS stamps: Monkey Love
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Almost Amethyst, Bashful Blue
Paper: Neenah Solar White, Elegant Eggplant, Bashful Blue, Almost Amethyst
Accessories: Prismacolor Pencils & gamsol, rhinestones, Birds & Swirls embossing folder, eggplant ricrac, Tags Trio Nestabilities, sponge

A Pals Paper Arts Challenge

I don't have a ton of time to post this, since the kids are working on typing out some research papers. While they get themselves organized I thought I would post what I made for the Pals Paper Arts Challenge, which was to make anything but a card. I made this sour cream container using the January SOM from Clear Dollar Stamps called Kisses & Cookies. It can be your FREE with a $50 purchase!
CDS Stamps: Kisses & Cookies Jan SOM
Ink: Bravo Burgundy, Encore Silver, Pink Pirouette
Paper: Pink Pirouette dp, Bravo Burgundy, Prism white

A Digi Image

I've only colored a few digital images, so I don't have a ton of experience with them. My overall favorite way to make a card is with the old fashioned 'stamp'. After I saw what Linda had done with one of Mo's Digital images, I have to say that I desperately wanted to try again. I still can't call them stamps, but after messing around with them most of this morning I think I'm beginning to see the fascination.
Mo's Digital Image: Patience
CDS Stamps: Loving Ladybugs (sentiment)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: Pacific Point Blue, Neenah Solar White, Basic Grey Lemonade
Accessories: blue brad, window punch, ticket punch, Primsacolor & Gamsol, white taffeta ribbon, button, twine

There are a ton of fun images to choose from at Mo's Digital Pencil Shop, and I just fell in love with this one. It reminded me of when my daughter was little. I used to put her hair up like that, and she was forever chasing the cats at her Grammie & Grandpa's. We are a family that loves the Siamese. They have 2 and we have one.

Thanks for stopping by today. I really need to get motivated to go do some grocery shopping, but it's pouring rain. All I really want to do is crawl back into my 'craft cave' and mess around some more. Have a lovely weekend!

My bff, Christi, had THIS card on her blog this morning, so I just had to ink mine up too. I loved textured background, so I HAD to do that as well. Anyway, I used the set Critter Tales, which is a new release from Clear Dollar Stamps.

A 2-fer

I'm home now, but not without drama, lol. Ok, so I'm being dramatic. . .there wasn't much drama. It was just snowing in Atlanta when we landed, which is a big deal for down here in the south. Thankfully, by the time we got on the shuttle to bring us home, the roads were fine and Columbus hadn't seen a drop of snow. My kids are well, but I have a terrible head cold. Oh well, I'm the mom. . .so I'm used to it (at least that's what my mom always says, hehe).

I couldn't wait to play along with Laurie's challenge over at Clearly Delightful, which was a wabbit challenge. I saw the Card Patterns sketch, so I just had to combine them. My latest order from Clear Dollar Stamps was waiting for me when I got home, and I couldn't wait to dive right in! After I saw Katie's take on Laurie's challenge, I just had to use the same little rabbit. . .so darn cute. And. . .voila!
Stamps: Spring Critters (Clear Dollar Stamps)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: Basic Black, Neenah Solar White, Basic Grey Origins dp
AccessorBoldies: Prismacolor pencils & gamsol, buttons, black twine, dimensionals, Scallop edge punch, corner rounder

Some Loving Ladybugs

Well, I'm actually supposed to be on a plane back to GA, but we are stuck in CA because my son got sick in the car on the way to the airport. Thankfully, we didn't have anything terribly pressing at home that we had to be back for. I just hope and pray that we are all well to fly tomorrow.

Here's a card using a new set from Clear Dollar Stamps called Loving Ladybugs that was just released a few days ago. I'm entering it into two different challenges, so go check these out! They are a ton of fun! The first challenge is the ABC Challenge, which is 'L' for Layering. The second challenge is the Creative Inspirations challenge, which the theme 'Anniversary'.
Stamps: Loving Ladybugs
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: Dusty Durango, Buttercream, Cosmo Cricket Earth Love, Basic Black

Thanks for stopping by today. Pray we get home safely tomorrow and that everyone is healthy. Then I can get back to my own craft room and love on my own things ;)

Clearly Inspired Challenge #4

Happy New Year everyone! I'm still on vacation in CA, and I have to say that the time change has me feeling so very behind. Not a good way to start a new year, lol. I'm excited that it is the start of some new Clearly Inspired Challenge that happens every other Friday over at ClearlyiStamp! Today's challenge was all about brads, so I had a little fun with that. I used the Bee-utiful Ballerina set.
Stamps: Bee-utiful Ballerina
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: Ruby Red, Neenah Solar White, More Mustard
Accessories: Copics, mustard brads, dimensionals, Scallop Cirlce and Inverted Scallop Circle Nestabilities

Remember to join in you don't have to have Clear Dollar Stamps, but why not show them off if you have them. If you don't, head on over to the shop and check out the amazing selection and prices. I can't wait to see what you've come up with ;D
